Symantec is proud to announce that we’ve been named to the FTSE4Good Index, which highlights companies with strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, for the 13thconsecutive year. Our longstanding inclusion in this index, as well as our inclusion on both the Dow Jones Sustainability (DJSI) World and DJSI North America indices, is a direct result of Symantec's commitment to embed sustainability practices throughout our company and value chain.
Created in 2001 by FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index helps promote a greater focus on sustainability among businesses and investors. To land on the FTSE4Good Index, companies must demonstrate transparent management and outstanding performance in clearly defined ESG criteria.
From our leadership in advocating for a safer and more sustainable futureto zapping greenhouse gas emissions by 32 percent to improving the communities where we live and work, Symantec works hard to ensure sustainability is incorporated into every aspect of our business.
Inclusion on these indices is important for Symantec and a variety of our key stakeholders. Investors, regulators, customers, suppliers, and employees want to know as much as possible about the companies they invest in, do business with, and work for, and these indices are a key tool in validating a company’s sustainability credentials.
This year, Symantec was also named to The Civic 50, listed on CR Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list, named a “Win-Win Company” by JUST Capital, named to Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, and included in the 100 U.S. Companies Supporting Healthy Communities and Families.
